**Terps Who Move Us Forward**

Across the University of Maryland, exceptional people make our work—and our community—stronger. These awards celebrate the colleagues and campus partners whose contributions help University Relations move *Forward* for all Terps.



## Partner-in-Advancement



- **Better Together** — To celebrate those in the community who provide cross-campus support for University Relations, the division has launched the Partner-in-Advancement Award. The award recognizes individuals whose collaboration, leadership and commitment have advanced UMD’s mission through development, engagement, stewardship, alumni relations, data infrastructure and/or communications. <https://forward.umd.edu/news/new-award-celebrates-advancement-as-a-team-sport-at-umd>
- **Ashley Bair** — *Assistant to the President and Director of Protocol and Events, President&#039;s Office*

Ashley received the Partner-in-Advancement Award for being a trusted and effective liaison in the president’s office who helps UR implement strategic donor engagement and exceptional stewardship.
- **Megan Gebregziabher** — *Director of Operations and Chief of Staff in Provost’s Office, Division of Academic Affairs*

Megan received the Partner-in-Advancement Award for being a dedicated facilitator in the Office of the Provost who helps align campus leadership and the university’s strategic aims with UR efforts.
- **Doron Levy** — *Chair of the Department of Mathematics and Director of the Brin Mathematics Research Center, College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences*

Doron received the Partner-in-Advancement Award for his strategic collaboration on a proposal for high-level donors that delivered impact for the university.
- **Javier Mena** — *Assistant Director of Regional Recruitment and Alumni Relations, Undergraduate Admissions, Enrollment Management*

Javier received the Partner-in-Advancement Award for his leadership in alumni engagement that helps the Alumni Association create meaningful connections across the university.
- **Nelson Riley** — *Multi Trades Supervisor II, Facilities Management*

Nelson received the Partner-in-Advancement Award for his exceptional dedication and responsiveness when providing invaluable UR-event support, consistently exceeding expectations.
- **Nicole Roop** — *Program Director, Undergraduate Student Affairs, A. James Clark School of Engineering*

Nicole received the Partner-in-Advancement Award for effectively implementing the scholarship program at the A. James Clark School of Engineering–ensuring donor intent is honored and facilitating student stewardship efforts.


## UR Staff Awards

The annual UR Staff Awards recognize the people and teams who bring our mission, vision and values to life. These honors celebrate colleagues whose excellence, innovation, collaboration and commitment strengthen University Relations and help advance the University of Maryland.

- **Rising Star: Geoff Coyle** — This award recognizes an individual&#039;s collaborative spirit, positive contributions to programs or initiatives, engagement in process improvement or innovative solutions, and their role as a positive ambassador for both University Relations and the University of Maryland.
- **Fearless Innovator: Katelyn Jackson** — With audacious vision and unwavering commitment, this teammate isn&#039;t afraid to challenge the status quo. An individual who thinks on a grand scale, pursuing ambitious goals that redefine what&#039;s possible. Driven by their bold spirit and resilience, they inspire us all through their groundbreaking achievements.
- **Terrapin Pride: Reyna Eason** — This award honors an individual who shines with authenticity and openness, and who actively champions their colleagues&#039; growth and well-being. Their warmth and positive spirit are infectious, cultivating a workplace where everyone feels a deep sense of belonging. This award recognizes a true contributor whose presence enriches our community and makes it a more welcoming place for all.
- **Shell Raiser: Shannon Cleary** — This award celebrates a standout individual who consistently goes above and beyond to elevate our work and community. Through dedication, inclusivity, and integrity, they enhance programs, improve experiences, and support those around them—exemplifying what it means to lead and serve the Terp way.
- **All-Star: Rebecca Kier** — Consistently setting the benchmark for excellence and motivating others through their dedication, this individual embraces growth and actively seeks opportunities for personal and professional development. They take ownership of their work with unwavering integrity and a commitment to delivering exceptional results, paving the way for others to achieve higher standards.
- **Collaborative Spirit: UR Human Resources** — This award celebrates a group that excels at working together to find solutions, fostering an environment where diverse perspectives lead to innovative and impactful outcomes. Their open communication, mutual support, and ability to function as a cohesive unit are key to their shared success.
